This award recognizes promising practices and innovations that have significantly contributed to the disability employment sector to increase employment opportunities for people who have a disability.

The award recipient shows creativity, innovation and impact in delivering a promising practice or innovation.

Eligibility criteria
- The employment service provider (ESP) must be an ODEN member in good standing and is currently providing disability employment services to people who have a disability.
- The ESP has demonstrated excellence and dedication in delivering the promising practice(s) and/or innovation nominated, demonstrating an increase in employment opportunities for people who have a disability. The promising practice and/or innovation refers to any program, model, procedure, approach, tool, or technology that may enhance the employment outcomes of people who have a disability.
- The ESP will be asked to provide two letters of support from businesses, community or other service provider outside employment who can comment on the contribution to the disability employment sector and the community related to the promising practice(s) and/or innovation.
- The ESP will be asked to provide a maximum 500-word impact statement stating how the promising practice and/or innovation meets the requirements per the rubric in this appendix. The statement should highlight the following areas:

- The overview of the service provider’s promising practice(s) and/or innovation, and any quantified outcomes and achievements of the practice/innovation

- The uniqueness and the value proposition of the practice/innovation in the current market, and how it attracts and benefits people who have a disability

- The potential and practicality for adoption by any service provider or organization that is interested in the practice/innovation, and how it benefits employment service providers

- The financial sustainability and continuity aspect of the practice/innovation
Application review process
Each application will be reviewed by members of the Award Committee and ranked based on the overall quality of the submission and using the rubric detailed in Table 1. The rubric shows categories and the associated metrics for the selection process. The nominator should describe how the nominated promising practice and or innovation fits the award metrics and provide evidence to demonstrate it.
Description of evaluation metrics
- Impact: The outcomes and achievements because of the use of the practice/innovation in the past year(s). The size of the service delivery team and the serving populations must be considered.
- Desirability: The uniqueness and the value proposition of the practice/innovation in the current market, and how it attracts and benefits people who have a disability.
- Feasibility: The potential and practicality of any service provider or organization that is interested in adopting and replicating the practice/innovation, and how it attracts and benefits employment service providers.
- Viability: The financial sustainability and continuity of the practice/innovation, and how it attracts diverse funding sources.
