Ontario Corporate Training Centre

The Ontario Corporate Training Centre (OCTC) is a new project designed to empower business with the tools, knowledge, resources, and confidence needed to embrace disability inclusive hiring, and foster diverse workplaces.

Project Objectives:

• Educating Businesses: We will empower businesses with insights on why disability inclusive hiring should be a cornerstone of their recruitment strategy, not only for fostering diversity but also for driving business growth and success.
  
  
• Enhancing Employer Confidence: The OCTC will provide sector-specific training and resources to strengthen employers’ confidence in hiring people who have a disability. It focuses on building knowledge about human resources best practices, workplace inclusion, accommodation and appropriate legislation and regulations.
  
  
• Strengthening Relationships: We will build and strengthen the relationships between businesses and Employment Service Providers expanding access to the disability talent pool.
  
  
• Support Recruitment Structures: Our project will support the development and implementation of recruitment, application, hiring and promotion structures that prioritize accessibility and inclusion.
  
  
• Specialization For Impact: We will survey sector associations and host focus groups to tailor our learning modules to specific industry needs, ensuring greater impact and identifying future learning modules.
  
  
• Evaluation and Knowledge Dissemination: Careful evaluation of project outcomes and sharing of findings, best practices and lessons learned with a wider network of stakeholders.
