Disability & Employment Awareness Enhancement Project
Advancing inclusive employment to strengthen communities
Project Objective: To increase awareness of National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) in communities across Ontario and Canada, advancing Canada’s commitment to meet the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
ODEN is proud to launch a new initiative to help Canadians celebrate National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) and to strengthen the connections between inclusive employment and Canada’s commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).This project aims to build stronger communities through disability inclusive employment.
This project will:
- Provide communities with ready-to-use toolkits, visuals, and templates for their own NDEAM campaigns
- Share inspiring stories that highlight how inclusive hiring improves community well-being and economic growth
- Connect local initiatives to a broader national movement towards disability employment inclusion
Employment is an integral part of the SDG vision for sustainable, equitable communities. Yet, many people who have a disability still face barriers to work. By breaking down these barriers, we can create opportunities for everyone to contribute and thrive. Resources will begin to be available ahead of October’s NDEAM 2025 campaign and will be updated throughout the project.
In the meantime, some helpful information is available through ODEN’s Annual NDEAM Campaign page: Explore resources here.
