Job Posting: Disability Awareness Trainer

Hours: Full-Time, 40 hours per week

The Ontario Disability Employment Network (ODEN) is looking for training professionals to join our team and drive Disability Inclusion in Ontario’s Workforce.
Position: Disability Awareness Trainer
As a Disability Awareness Trainer, you will:
- Engage and encourage business owners/operators to include people who have a disability in their hiring and recruitment processes
- Make presentations to business audiences based on the Business Case for including people who have a disability in the workplace
- Deliver Disability Awareness and Confidence Training, specifically designed for businesses, to increase employer awareness, employment opportunities and job quality for people who have a disability
- Provide consulting assistance to businesses on disability-related issues, recruitment and on-boarding processes, accessibility, accommodations
- Provide local follow-up supports to businesses that may include coaching, consulting, placement services, workplace assessments, communities of practice, etc.
- Support the marketing and socializing of the Hub Project to Employment Service Providers
- Develop and foster relationships between businesses and their local community employment service agencies to facilitate easier access to employees/employment
- Engage employment service providers, through various ODEN Connection events, outreach material, and media channels
- Coordinate/broker job opportunities with community employment agencies to provide job candidates and support services
- Participate fully in the promotion and/or delivery of ODEN initiatives such Rethinking Disability Conference, ODEN Biz Connect Leader Series, ODEN Connection events, etc.
You are someone who is:
- Passionate about increasing employment opportunities for people who have a disability
- Capable to develop, coordinate and lead training activities
- Exceptional at inspiring others, setting vision, leading, and facilitating effectively
- A time management guru
- Able to successfully prioritize and run multiple training initiatives simultaneously
- An excellent communicator
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3-5 years’ demonstrated experience and application of adult learning principles, instructional principles and/or methodologies
- Demonstrated experience coordinating training events in corporate settings
- Knowledge of project evaluation methods to develop performance measures and report on project outcomes
- Experience in business and familiarity with operations, management, human and organizational processes so that disability inclusive hiring can be connected to business strategy, management, and organizational development
- Strong professional communication and presentation skills
- Bilingual in French and English is an asset
- Advanced computer competency with MS Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, MS Teams)
- Must be proficient with Zoom, RingCentral, CRM databases (Salesforce, Maximizer etc.) and able to learn new platforms/applications quickly
- Must have a functioning office set-up including computer, printer/scanner, web camera and basic headset/microphone, and access to a tablet or laptop during travel
- Ability to access reliable transportation
