Co-Op Marketing & Communications Coordinator
The Ontario Disability Employment Network (ODEN) is looking for a professional, self-directed Marketing & Communications Co-Op student to join our team and drive Disability Inclusion in Ontario’s Workforce.
Internship Position: Co-Op Marketing & Communications Coordinator
As a Co-Op Marketing & Communications Coordinator you will:
- Work with the Director to create the strategy for multi-channel integrated marketing campaign for a specific initiative (newsletters, flyers, PR (Public Relations) kits, press releases, etc.)
- Execute the strategy, and create lead generations for potential businesses and other stakeholders who would benefit from the project
- Track marketing and communications outputs for impact
- Provide copy edits for all collateral and creative materials
- Support events (awareness, training, etc.) with marketing materials as required or requested
- Work with the Director to ensure consistent brand and messaging is maintained on all materials including website
- Write content and marketing pieces to be used for website and all stakeholder groups
- Responsible for developing a social media campaign and content across all channels
- Analyze social media metrics to recommend future strategies
- Provide proof reading and editing support for the project team
- Prepare, format, and write reports based on analytics and other sources of data and information

- Able to learn quickly and work independently in project with short-turn around and tight deadlines
- Well-organized with ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
- Has strong writing and editing skills
- Experienced with social media management and content creation and website development
- Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure consistency in messaging
Education Requirements:
Currently enrolled in Marketing, Communication and/or Business Administration, with a Co-op option. You are a student in your 3rd or 4th year of a program, with an average of B+ in the current year. A copy of your transcripts is required to apply for this role.
The expected weekly salary for a student-hire in this role is listed below.
Co-Op Salary
$1,080 per week. Typically working 35 to 40 hours/week.
Co-Op Term length: 30 weeks (about 7 months) from May to November 2024.
Other Requirements:
- Strong project management, multitasking, and decision-making skills.
- Strong writing and editing skills.
- Experience with social media management and content creation and website development.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure consistency in messaging.
- Advanced computer competency with MS Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, MS Teams).
- Must have a functioning office set-up including computer, printer/scanner, web camera and basic headset/microphone, and access to a tablet or laptop during travel.
- Ability to access reliable transportation
- Bilingual French and English is an asset
